Australia’s Seven Network commenced broadcasting the miniseries INXS: Never Tear Us Apart on Feb. 16, 2014. To coincide with this countrywide screening, the album Live at Wembley ’91 was given worldwide release. It captures a fan-favorite concert from July 13, 1991, at London's Wembley Stadium, where a sold-out audience of 72,000 watched Michael Hutchence and crew work their way through their hits and most-loved album tracks. The show was originally only available as a live concert video (directed by David Malle in 35mm), with portions of the show appearing as part of the Live Baby Live live album from 1991. These 21 live tracks (and a studio version of the single “Shining Star”) present the band at their prime, playing in the type of stadium for which their music was tailor-made. Their studio recordings remain the definitive versions, but fans deserve these alternate shots of “Kick,” “Original Sin,” “New Sensation,” “What You Need” and “Devil Inside,” where any doubts about INXS’s live chops can be easily dismissed.
