A Christian rapper from North Carolina, Applejaxx has dropped several full-lengths and EPs combining big club beats with faith-driven rhymes. Organic is very much a concept album, urging listeners to give up processed, mass-produced junk food (both literally and metaphorically) and embrace the pure nutrients of both healthy all-natural grub and Christ's love. Production-wise it's slick and catchy, with the requisite Auto-Tune hooks, giant drums, and walls of keyboards dominating each track. If you dig that style, and especially if you live your life dedicated to the Lord, this album is custom-made for you. A few songs here touch on other issues ("Runnin'" finds him stressing out about his credit score and student loans, while "Eye Candy" is one for the ladies), but for the most part, Applejaxx is all about self-improvement through a healthy lifestyle and ample religion. Check out "Go Jesus," "Against the Odds," and "Blueberry Slangin'."
